Hi .. I'm new to this site, and not at all mechanically minded in the car sense, but have been having problems with my 2001 Y plate Polo 1.4. I am having persistent problems with the EPC lamp despite various expensive remedies, which have included replacing the lambda switches, 2 catalytic converters & an engine coil(following loss of power). Once again the lamp has illuminated, and my local garage has told me that all has been checked, and once again it is the catalytic converter. if this is the problem, this will be the 3rd cat in a year!
Can anyone help. Even with the lamp illuminated the car itself runs fine, has very occasional misfires, but nothing that would suggest an engine fault which the manual states guiding the reader to ease off the throttle & drive to the nearest VW dealer!!!
