I've seen a lot of posts recently asking where to find the ports on various cars.

This information is well documented by the creators of VAG-COM, Ross-Tech.

Ross-Tech Vehicle Application Charts (http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/applications/index.html)

As an example, I have a Passat.

So I click on the above link, select "VW Passat", scroll to the foot of the page and find that my port is either here;

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/applications/mk4.GIF

or here;

Simple!

they have every car except the Sharan .

So if anyone is after its location , its under the ashtray in the centre console.

Port for Skoda Octavia mk 1 is in the front under the steering wheel slightly to the left .

Port for the Skoda Octavia Mk 2 is in the front under the steering wheel to the right near the door (Difficult to spot;))

So if anyone is after its location , its under the ashtray in the centre console.

This is for the MK1 Sharan, Galaxy & Alhambra

The MK2 Sharan Galaxy and Alhambra is located underneath the bottom of the dashboard, in line with the fuse box access panel on the driver's side of the car. Stick your head under the dashboard and you will see the pink connector

where is the port on a 2005 a4 b6cab

On the older B5 A4 it in the passenger ashtray ;)

One rule of thumb is that EU regs state is needs to be accessible from the drivers seat, common place is in the drivers foot well

Under the heater controls there's a piece of fascia you need to remove

Hello.

2005 VW Touran please.

From memory, pull open the coin tray beneath the headlamp switch and it should be behind that.

From the link in the first post;

The other part of your question will get more coverage in the VCDS forum - ask there ;)

Can you read German? http://en.openobd.org/locations.htm#vw_lt_2d

Google translated as follows: "The diagnostic connector is located in the footwell next to the pedals, it will need a special adapter. It may not have addressed all the control unit, as the LT a joint project with Mercedes-Benz."

R/H side of the dash there is a small pull down "glove box" effort. You need to give this a sharp pull downwards to expose the OBD port behind it.

The OBD port for Skoda Roomsters is below the steering wheel behind the fuse board fascia.
