I have a SE tdi and wanted to fit fogs on because they look good plus they are cheap!!

Something like those:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VOLKSWAGEN-GOLF-5-MK5-front-fog-lights-lamps-grilles_W0QQitemZ310081065701QQcmdZViewItem?hash=i tem310081065701&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C24 0%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Has anyone done this? obviously it isnt a clip on job because I want the fogs to work!

i havent done it myself , but i am looking to do it on my A3.

I think the fitting of the spots themselves wont be the problem.

I am not sure if the wiring harness is in the already for the spots behind the bumper. If it is, it should really be just plug and play there. If it aint, you will have to start running wires in to connect to the loom, and this could be tricky.

Also, you probably havent got the switch on the dash either to operate them, so you would have to look at getting that aswell.

I would also be interested in hearing about this , as stated, i would like to do thismyself.

Hi there I would recommend getting genuine vw fog lights because the after market ones can,t be adjusted. The parts you will need are 2 fog lights About £55 each at vw the wiring harness £35, euro switch £60 and the replacement grills £12.I was lucky enough to get genuine fog lights and wiring harness of Ebay For £70 and the euro switch £25 you will also need a good auto electrician to wire them up because if its not wired up correctly you will burn the loom out.It should cost between£80-£100 to wire them up

Cant be certain but with the Mk4 TDi was there not certain restrictions on fog lamps that fit into the lower bumper?

I heard that they restricted air flow to the intercooler?

Its probably not an issue on the Mk5 though, i guess there are some TDI's with them fitted as standard anyway?

MK4 had a different front end on it... The TDI 150bhp had a front mounted intercooler...

The front fogs on the SE were just an extra..

Let us know if anyone has managed this.
