need help ECM relay

need help can any one tell me where ECM relay located in jetta 96 plz and diy how to check the ecu computer.

Which engine code? The relay is always at position 3 on the relay plate, upper main row third from the left and will have the number 30 or 109 printed on top. You check the engines ECU using diagnostic software or a dedicated diagnostic computer, a good example of the former is VAG-COM.

Thanks crasher i will check that :) for the codes i dont have computer i meant how people check code with the blinking light in the dash i mean how to read without puting Vag-Com
