8-9 Month wait

Hi all, just been in to order a Scirocco today and have been quoted an 8-9 month wait before delivery!

Has anyone else been told a similar story or is it dealership specific?

Think that must be dealer specific. What spec are you looking for and where abouts are you from.

Didn't even get as far as the spec, the sales guy just said I hope you aren't wanting one for 9 months. They've sold all their allocation apparently and aren't allowed to send any more specs to the factory til January at the earliest.

They were still hankering after a 500 quid deposit tho, to 'join the queue' as they put it.

It depends how quick you want one but I would have a ring around VW dealers and see what they say.

dealers typically have one per month on allocation this year, i would suggest you speak to dealers who are part of a group as they tender to get more and have cars within group

citygate have a few dealers and ridgway group have reported no troubles

reviews are hitting the press this week (auto express) and next week in autocar so interet may increase

ondines_curse was chatting with me dealer still week (40/41 according to vw), rigdeway in wantage (oxfordshire) still have 3 for this year they can call on (customer can spec) maybe guildford is a hot spot

certainly worth it, was sorting out paperwork and registrations today at my dealer and they have three available for the month, no one has bought a scirocco from they since mine at end of july....

There are some cars available that VW released but they are a standard spec, by that I mean, Red = manual/cloth, Black = Leather, DSG, Sunroof, Winter Pack and so on.

Yep I went for Red as I don't like leather or Auto's and last car was black. I think the lighter colours suit the car better.

Thats right, although the dealer did have trouble getting another dealer todo a swap! Should be with them on Tuesday
