Choice of three petrol engines and one TDI, two of which can be combined with quattro permanent four-wheel-drive
As an unusually sun-drenched summer for once fully justifies the UK’s position as the world’s largest market for the A4 Cabriolet, Audi has just boosted the appeal of the range in time for pre-September ordering. Until September 30th, 2005, upgrading to the A4 Cabriolet Sport will be a no cost option, while the even more distinctive A4 Cabriolet S line will be available at a reduced premium of £1,200.

All the petrol and TDI versions in the current A4 Cabriolet range are available in Sport specification, which previously carried a premium of £750. With this premium removed until September 30th, OTR prices for A4 Cabriolet Sport models now start at £25,390 for the 1.8 T Sport, rising to £30,330 for the 3.0 quattro Sport. Additional equipment for Sport models includes sports suspension, sports seats with electric lumbar adjustment, a leather-trimmed sports steering wheel and leather trimmed gear knob and gaiter, plus an alloy wheel upgrade from 16-inch ‘five-arm aero’ design to 17-inch ‘five-spoke star’.

Even more distinctive S line versions are also now more affordable thanks to a reduction in price premium from £1,950 to £1,200 until September 30th. S line OTR prices now start at £26,590 for the 1.8 T S line, rising to £31,530 for the 3.0 quattro S line. Additional specification includes striking 18-inch 5-arm design alloy wheels and S line exterior badges, unique S line suspension settings, sports seats with Speed cloth and leather combination upholstery, a 3-spoke S line sports steering wheel with perforated leather trim and brushed aluminium fascia inlays.

These specification adjustments supplement range-wide features such as fully automatic soft-top operation, electric front and rear windows, electronic climate control and a Concert radio with single CD player. With their benefit, UK demand for the A4 Cabriolet range, which was the choice of well over 7,000 Audi customers here in 2004, is likely to move even further ahead of other Audi markets across the world.

The A4 Cabriolet line-up currently includes the familiar 1.8-litre turbo charged four-cylinder petrol with 163PS, 2.4 V6 and 3.0 V6 petrol units with 170PS and 220PS and a 2.5-litre V6 TDI diesel with 163PS. Cabriolet 1.8 T and 3.0 V6 Sport and S line models are available with either front-wheel-drive or quattro permanent four-wheel-drive to maximise driver control and fully exploit the more sporting suspension settings.
