Tomorow the A4 returns to its dealership for its first service, ready for the mechanics at audi to kicks the tyres and if i'm lucky they may even change the oil. I do have a couple of niggly bits that I want them to look at:

1- the first point is when I listen to AM radio stations or talk through the bluetooth phone preps the front dash speaker has an annoying vibration.

2 -second like others on this forum when my A4 is cold there is a slight knocking noise from the steering.

lets hope the guys in the grey overalls work their magic.

Thats a lot of miles but brilliant that its only going in for its first service after 18K. Lots of people think modern cars are expensive to run with their fancy dealer only servicing, but thats not bad to need a first visit after 18K!! How long have you had it?

I've had the car for approximately 5 month now, i couldn't think of a better car to do all those miles in. I've got a a6 as a courtesy car it doesn't drive no where near as well as my A4, can't wait to get it back.

Audi have said there's a maintanence software upgrade that is required for the engine management, its not a recoil however they will upgrade your software on your first service.

can't wait to get it back.

Must admit I brushed over the finer detail of how much a standard service costs on a new A4.

Any chance you could let us know what the damage is?

If I was to guess at 18,900 miles would I be far out.
Every service on my B6 has been at 18,900 intervals (126k on clock now)
