Wheel Nuts not fitting!!

Evening All,
I bought some wheels today, AUDI wheels and went to fit them onto my AUDI A3, but the nut holes do not align straight therefore I cold not put the wheels on.

Anyone have an idea what i need to buy in order to fit the wheels? Am i right in thinking that these AUDI wheels should fit onto my A3?

Audi a3 it is built on the golf platform and the pcd is 5x100mm. The alloys you bought are probably of an audi a4 wich is built on the b5 platform the same like a6, vw passat, skoda superb. You should get alloys for a vw golf mk 4, skoda octavia, vw bora or audi a3 and make shure that the PCD and offset is right...

I am gonna sell them on Ebay as they are in mint condition.

I have found adaptors for them but they are going for around £80 and a lot of hassle, just going to buy some which fit next time.
