Hi

Before I take the plunge I need to convince the wife that this is an economical car (coming from a Boxster which I average between 24 and 30 mpg in). What realistically do you average MPG wise, slightly worried that in the demonstrator I drove that since new it had only averaged 25MPG!

Thanks..

don't own one of these but my 2007 version 2.7 tdi A6 which is probably slightly less thirsty gets about 35- 37 mpg so i'd say you'd be looking at 30-35mpg in the real world if you have not too heavy a right foot - but then if your not going to drive it fast why get one :naughty:

Well I've managed 750 miles in mine so far since July.

Motorway has achieved about 39-40mpg, A roads 40-44 mpg and overall for the 750 miles about 33 mpg. I suspect this will improve a bit after a few thousand miles, but I will no doubt compensate with a heavier right foot.

Only done ~300 miles in mine, but so far seeing about 35 around town and 40 on longer dual carriageway/m'way trips. Hope it will loosen up a little bit over time. Mind you, it is all too easy to get this down by succumbing to the temptation to use the right foot a bit more. :)

Ummm, I think the last trip out was mostly motorways (up to Oxford then Redditch from Brighton, then back), from the calcs, I think we did around 37-42mpg, didn't exactly hammer it, but either way, was still pretty good...

I'm only filling up with V-Power at the moment, not really sure if it makes a difference!

I've got a 56 plate 3.0 TDI (manual) .. 233PS version.. the new 240PS version is supposed to be slightly more economical...

My average since new (21k miles now) I am averaging 42mpg ..

On a decent run, I'll hit 46MPG on A roads, higher on motorways...

If you get stuck in traffic, then you will average 30 ish...
