vag com connection

I was looking at my buddys B6 passat but could not find the connection for Vag com - any clues where it is located please ?
Also does anyone know if the ordinary rosstech USB/Hex lead works or do I need the newer canbus variety ?

Pretty sure it's CANBUS for B6 Passat.;)

Hi, I believe it is under the glove box,and that it uses the newer plug.
(I've seen the VW techs plugging in into mine)

You need the latest ross-tech lead and software for the B6 passat.

There is a plug under the dash close to the peddle box, I know this as the AA man who got me going last plugged his laptop into it clearing faults when the battery was drained.

Not sure if this the same connector though.

its on driver side , above pedals near bonnet release. can bus cable needed.
