Question
Anyone have experience of towing a caravan with a 140 TDi Passat with the DSG auto gearbox?
I am considering ordering one but would appreciate comments.

Get a manual if you intend to tow with it. The auto gearboxes are fragile compared with the manual ones and cost a kidney to repair/replace ! I would rather do a 300 quid clutch on a manual than a 5k DSG box....Do not believe what dealer say, its still an automatic gearbox ! Search for DSG failure on www.tdiforum.com and you will see what i mean ! Also, if you intend to tow go for the 130 PD lump 19 Tdi and not the 2.0L one as the later is prone to failure....Do your research !
