Interior lights A4

Hi all, first post so be gentle with me.
My interior lights stopped working along with the indicator flash when you unlock or lock with the remote (2000 A4 petrol).
I've found a duff fuse (Fuse 14) but it blows again after a couple of hours.
Can anyone through any "Light" on the matter please.

Hi Bazza, I came across your message when searching for an answer to the exact same problem (1997 TDi). Did you manage to sort it out?

i had the same problem and it turned out to be worn wiring to the vanity mirror lights in the visors.

where the circuit passes through the hinge to the visors the insulation had worn off through old age and regular use, a bit of isulating tape and a new fuse and all was well again.
