Hi

1994 2l Petrol Passat 2E

I have just replaced front and rear disks and pads. Bled brakes from each caliper.

With the engine off, the brake pedal seemed to be nice and firm, and about what I would expect. However when I turned the engine on and took her down the drive for a test I could push the brake pedal to the floor and only get very slight braking action (enough to stop the car from rolling)

Anyone got any ideas what I should do now?

How exactly did you bleed the brakes ? Did you use someone to pump the pedal while you bleed the brakes ? There is no need to bleed brakes unless you had to undo/replace bleed screws or brake pipes or the the braking was not equal between the front wheels !

Hi
I used a pressurised bleeding kit. All bleed valves were seized so I had to take each caliper off the car to jam valves in a vice. Have replaced the valves.
