POLO 52reg - POWER STEERING FAULT -PLEASE PLEASE HELP

hi, im new to the site, but would like some advice, my polo on a 2003/ 52reg 4 small headlight model, was fine until yesterday when the power steering stopped working,:mad: its the electrionic pump version and the steering wheels is in a league of its own, u can barely turn it, i driven transit vans without power steering and this polo is something else!!!

called a few dealers and they want £750 odd to sort it £500 odd for the part then another £200 odd labour etc..., obviously thats too much!!!:aargh4:

called a few breakers and they have them but dont ave one same part number as i mine does any one know if other one's would fit?

also i checked all the fuses and they seem fine, is there anything else i could check?:confused:

also would the fault codes need to b reset if i happen to find a same part number? i.e. just bolt it on and it'll work?:confused:

any advice wouyld b very much appreciated
