radio lights

Can someone tell me when the doors are locked on a audi a4 1998 why does the radio lights still remain on. The radio is actually off but the lights for the buttons remain illuminated.

Is it the original factory radio?

If not I would suggest that the wiring hasn't been adapted correctly, and the factory alarm feed is triggering the lighting circuit on the radio.

thanks for the reply yes it is factory and come to thing about it i do see a led on the radio which from previous cars i think should come on. Instead this remains off and the radio lights up when turned off.
