cleaning the turbo

Can anyone tell me if its possible to clean the turbo on an audi A4 tdi 130 sport or is it a job for a trust worthy garage

When i've cleaned the turbo on mine (ok fair engough it's a 110 bhp A4), i have not removed it, first time cleaning (of the hot side) was in total about 1.5hr's, now a lot quicker
