How do All,
I own a 99 Audi S3, Only 50,000 on the clock, completely standard car, The car is well looked after and has been from day 1. Im experiencing a crunch when engadgeing 2nd gear and the others feel ok, The gear selection is firm and responsive, no sloppyness at all. Clutch seems fine with plenty of movement and a good biting point, Any Ideas? Please dont say is due for a new box! I was led to believe these boxes are good for up to 100,000 miles!? Can anyone put me in touch with a good specialist with in the Grt Manchester area? I used to use Dub sport but they have vanished without a trace!

:(100K???? Bugger....time to ged rid of mine then;) (mines at 92K). My g/box is pretty notchy between 1st and 2nd to be honest, but the change from 2nd upwards is ok though.

I think awesomeGTI are still in manchester, they offer pretty comprehensive service as far as I know. Havent tried them for anything.

Best of luck mate:beerchug:

Hi James,
Thanks for the reply, You hear different stories, Some S3's have 150000 on the clock, with the same box. Some say the Sincro has worn out on cars at 60000? . I dont know. I wouldn't say mine was bad enough to warrant a recon . How long have you had your s3?
Has it been notchy since day one?
Im a little aprehensive about haveing it checked out, Im abit **** when it comes to my car, If Something isn't right it bugs the life out of me. But saying that, a recon'd box , fitted, would set me back about a grand so I'll have to live with it untill 2nd Gear falls out!!:aargh4:
Awsome Gti , Ill do a web search for the phone number, Ill see what sort of feedback they have had.
Cheers Fella.
