I know this guy and tell you what, he's obsessive about it all - on the plus side, he'll do other people's cars for a really good price :D

Makes you wonder just how good your car could look.

I always think mine looks good after a wash and polish, but these guys would be devastated! Probably verging on suicide!

Well personally I really couldn't be bothered to do what he's done, nor pay the bill for it if I'm honest.
That said, it's stunning at just what a difference it made to got through that work. Looks OK at the start but stunning afterwards.

I'm into my detailing quite heavily but I have to admit, the first thing I'd do with a brand new vxr would be to drive it, not spend hours cleaning it :o

Regards the price above for an A4, I would say not to go for a detailer recommended on a forum, but ask around your social circle, find out if anyone's used one already, word of mouth is far more important.

There is of course, Elite Detailer, the chap who sponsors this here subforum ;)

I saw this thread years ago and thought "Too far!"
Fast forward to last week when I bought my first clay bar starter set. :Blush2:

There was a spoof of this thread where a guy had bought a jacket from eBay and was testing the thickness of the material and checking the stitching and stuff, consulting third parties etc. :D
Unfortunatly I can't find it! Google has let me down. :zx11:

i know poeple who do this on there car but there car are show cars or high power beasts!. the closet i got to this was wash my car 3 times (cold , warm , hot water) and then with megs step 1 paint cleaner and i got lot of poeple asking me to do there cars, as it was well worth the effort (all done by hand!) shining and smooth , but never got around to polish and wax it to finish it up , may give it to my mate to give it a once over .

Bit sad, but makes a huge difference.

I'm a bit of a closet detailer, but I make sure I keep it very quiet.

Everytime I see dirt in my wheel arches, it ruins the rest of my day.

Nice shine fair-do's, please get out more, they say you can't polish a turd, but think this argues the case :D
Build quality on vauxhall's are terrible, adn considering this is a new car for example look at front view of the car, you will see the bonnet to grill spacing is smaller on the left side compared to the right.
I am not being bias because i have a mk1 and mk2 golf, but since my 1st vw, i never looked back
