Just a follow up post about my non working central locking.

It started with an intermittent fault which I tried to cure with a replacement pump but this didn't work. I then made my first post on here about this and got some info about the convenience module etc which I searched in vain for (I even removed the interior - seats/carpets/centre console) only to find that my car doesn't have a convenience module!!!!!
Anyway, I persevered with it for a while until I'd had enough and phoned an auto electrician.
The fault was found in less than a minute......somehow the central locking unit had lost its permanent live feed (the purple plug) so to keep cost down I opted for a replacement live feed rather than trace the faulty wiring through the car.
Good news is, its all good again and working perfect so if anyone has a '95/96 A4 WITHOUT RCL, chances are there is no convenience module to go wrong and if the pump has been changed and it still doesn't work, get an auto electrician coz it will deffo be a wiring fault.
