back in the old days, (before this new 13 pin plug was introduced), the caravanner would have 2 electrical sockets. clearly one is the original 7 pin that powers brakes, fog, indicators and side lights. what exactly did the other electric socke power?

my initial guesses would be reversing light and refridgerator. how wrong am i?

reason for asking, i saw for sale a 7 pin to 13 pin covverter lead. so how would that work?

You've more or less got it there Ben, the second plug is/was used for charging the tourer battery, running the fridge and any other ancilleries (sp) that the caravan may have.

How that 7>13 pin adapter lead works, I'm not quite sure as the two sets of plugs are wired up differently, surely? perhaps not, the last time I went caravanning, I was forced to wear those ever-so-stylish naval themed 'pumps' :Blush2:
