I had my cambelt changed last week at a local garage.
I noticed staright away that the engine sounded like a tractor at idle. It also reached normal temperature quicker, had more turbo boost and the average MPG had gone down by about 15 mpg.
Unfortunately, before I got it back to the garage in less than 50 miles it blew out the head gasket and lost all the coolant internally.
Does that sound like the mechanic mis-timed the injector pump?
I spoke to the mechanic today. He says he used the shaft locking tools but noticed there were three tippex marks on the pulley which he didn't trust.
Any comments or suggestion please.
