View Full Version : Where are all the speakers ?

Hi there,

I've got an A4 1.8T Sport on an '03 plate. The Parkers guide says there are 10 speakers and I can guess where 8 of them are (2 x Front Drivers, 2 x Front Tweeters, 2 x Rear Drivers, 2 x Rear Tweeters), but where are the other 2 ?

I've got a Concert Single CD stereo at the moment (Soon to be replaced with a Pioneer unit). Also, is there an amp that drives the speakers or is it all from the head unit ?

Finally, is there an online diagram that shows the stereo system ?

Yes, up to 2006.
There are two tweeters either side of the dash with woofer in middle firing against windscreen.
One bass and one tweeter in front doors.
One tweeter in each of rear doors.
Rear woofer under parcel shelf in rear.
10 TOTAL.

In my 03 Avant with the Audi Symphony;

2x Front door tweeters
2x front door speakers
1x dash speaker
2x Rear door tweeters
2x Rear door speakers
1x Subwoofer in boot

Not sure if the Concert is 8 speakers, is this not the 'basic' stereo. I know the Symphony is an upgrade option hence the extra speakers.

Hi Dave,

I downloaded the Parkers guide to the exact model of my car and it says under the 'Entertainment' section that '10 Speakers' is standard.

I'm going to have to hunt for my sub.......

In the Avant, I believe the subwoofers may be tucked in the passenger panel in the hatch area. See http://www.carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalAudiAvantSubR.htm


One speaker that many overlook is in the center of the dash. It is called a "Center-Fill" speaker. B6 & B7 Sedans mount the subwoofer in the package tray.
