hi, im new to this forum
i have just purchased a VT 20v
i was driving yesterday on the motorway and then a big bang and smoke everywhere at the back
i was AA recovered home.
i have had a look at it today, cambelt is intact
water is nice and blue
oil level is ok
there was no overheating issuses although i did notice a lack in power
situation now is car wont start, it trys and idles so poorly then cuts off
also sounds like there is no exhaust connected anymore
has anyone experienced this or any ideas??
thanks in advance

had a proper look today, got under and removed the under tray.
there was bits of metal in it!!!!
at the front just under where the dipstick goes in there is a whole in the block
it appears to have thrown a rod
question is what is salvagable from it?
would the turbo be minced aswell??
how much would it be approx to replace the unit
