Passat head unit advice

HI I've got a passat 2001 and thinking about changing the head unit. Right now I have a factory fittet gamma unit and factory fittet speakers.
I was wondering if there will be any diffrence if I will change only the unit and leave the speakers and if so maybe you could advise me a good unit which will work better with those speakers. Thanks

i fitted my sony mp3 disc head unit and noticed a dramatic change even with the standard fit speakers. still got to change the power leads round (no memory) go for it :beerchug:
