Hello

I have a 2001 Sharan TDi 115 s which I bought second hand recently. i was looking at Kwik Fit and other tyre websites which all state that the correct tyres for this vehicle are 205/60/R15. However, the tyres on mine are 195/60/R16 C. I was wondering if 16inch wheels are common on this model and also unsurea about the speed rating which is C on the tyres I have at the moment

Hi,
Im interested in what other tyres could fit mine. mines a 02 and have on it 205/60/R15 and they are a bit pricey. £60ish each.
Does anyone have knowledge on this?

Hi
Just checked the Autodata CD containing your info on Sharan.
It looks like you have the least common rim size: 6 x 16
This equates to a tyre size of 195/60/16 (as you know)
C stands for commercial, (basically the same as van tyres) which means that the construction is 8 ply.

Speed rating wise, not 100 % sure as I dont have the info in front of me, but most commercial tyres are usually quite low (Q-S).

I will write more when I can find my manuals for working out which sizes you could (in theory) change to.

Hope thats of some use,

Regards

Richard

You could try 195 /65/15 H
These should cost a little less, though personally (£60 ish) each for the 205/60/15 isnt that pricey.

Currently you can get 205/60/15H (firestones) from etyres for £55.90 which is a pretty good deal! They also have decent reviews, and a lot better than using Kwik Fit etc as they are completely mobile so you dont have to wait in a cold tyre depot drinking rubbish coffee!
