Hi, i hope someone here can help me. I own a 1999 A4 1.8T Quattro sport. After several miles of driving the ABS light and the front brake pad wear level warning light come on.. The pads have a lot of wear left in them.. I have read comments on similar problems but never read one on both these problems at the same time. I understand that it is probably a sensor somewhere but does anyone have any ideas where to start?

If you are sure your pad wear warning light is coming on, and your pads are OK (should have at least 4mm of compound left), check the connectors, along with the ABS wheel speed sensor connectors. Make sure there is no corrosion, or frayed insulation, and use some silicon grease spray when re-assembling.

Make sure your brake fluid level is OK, and the fluid level sensor is also OK, and make sure the handbrake warning light circuit is also OK.

With all these checked and eliminated, and the prob still there, then pull the fault codes with either vag-com, specialist independent, or main *******.

Let us know how you get on, rgds
