Hi,
This is a 2001 1.8 .The service schedule booklet specifies the replacement interval as 120 000km(80 000 miles) for 4cyl 5V petrol engines in A4,A6,Cabriolet.
I asked two dealerships workshops what the replacement interval is and they quoted 75 000km.I then contacted Audi South Africa,Technical Services who could not answer directly but called me back to confirm that the replacement interval was reduced in 2003 to 75 000km.They did not quote a service bulletin number or any bulletin reference.
Frankly I am sceptical without seeing a copy of the service letter or the bulletin that there are valid technical reasons for the reduction by 47% of the replacement interval.
What is the interval in European built A4's and can members comment on whether a similar reduction in cambelt replacement interval has occurred.

First of all........ edit your post and get rid of the VIN and Engine serial number.... you dont have to post that as is info is personnal to your car.... REMOVE ASAP for your own benefit...

Also the CAM Belt is every 60K-70K...
