Hi all,

Just about to pull the pin and order a new Golf Bluemotion.All the reviews seem good,and we had a quick drive in one last weekend.
Was tempted to get the Polo Bluemotion,but the Golf is soooo much nicer to drive and the interior is alot better to.

Good decision?

Well my passat isn't due to go back until the 30th october. But we are expecting a delivery date on the week starting 13th october.

I ordered a Golf Match Bluemotion in Steel Gray in April, it was on the production line at Wolfsberg last week and should be with me in 2 weeks. Can't wait. The extra £50 per month in my pocket over my Focus just adds to the anticipation.

My dealer told me that the Estate and Jetta are made in Mexico and the Golf is split between South Africa and Wolfsberg. He didn't say what the split was based on (model or mearket) but my 5 door Bluemotion is a Wolfsberg car.

I'm actually quite excited for it arriving. It will only be the second new car I have had. Not counting company van's.

Also it will reduce my tax burden by almost a half over what I am currently paying on my TDI SE Passat

keep us updated on how you get on with it. how are you planning on running it in? gently, gently? or normal driving? i have yet to hear a definitive answer as to what is best.

I feel a new thread coming on....

This will be my first new car but I plan on driving normally from day 1. I avoid full throttle unless overtaking or I need very rapid acceleration on a slip road revs will be a little suck and see with the longer top gears but the torque curve is a little low below 1500 rpm so I'll be aming to keep it above that level.

I'll be having an oil change done at around 1000 miles. Sod what VW say about 20,000 mile servicing intervals. That is all about keeping overall running costs down for the fleet purchases and does nothing for the long term durability of the engine.

With all of the swarf kicking around from early bedding in on the bearing surfaces there is no way that the filter can cope and I will be having it changed. Seeing as I will be paying for it I'm tempted to ask for the removed part and take a look at the contents and the matrix structure under a microscope and see what I can see.
