Hi all,
just starting a little homework.

Considering a Polo as a replacement to our Ka run-around, also considering Golf or Civic :(

Polo seems to be in the lead at the moment.

Leaning towards diesel, but not a necessity.

will be spending around the £5k mark, wanting to get as new as poss (3yrs old)

what is the best Polo to get??

i like the 1.4tdi, sounds better than it is :)

so, come on guys, share with me what Polo to look for, and why??

Cheers..................Stu

read through some of the posts on here, there pleanty of things that go wrong on the more recent polos. they don't build them like they used to and then they put loads of gadgets in that go wrong. In my opinion there are better cars out there for the money. the japs still seem to be able to build a bomb proof car, maybe doesnt have the class though. If you really want a modern vag car why not consider a fabia or seat ibiza, they are much the same car, just cheaper.

Hello,

I have a 2006 55 reg polo 1.4 80 bhp tdi se for sale. I think they are well built and MPG is in excess of 60! The tax bracket has beeen changed and a years tax is going down to 90 quid! get the SE or Sport that way you got alloys and a few more modern comforts! And get the 80bhp the 70 is a bit too slow!

See this link for the SE spec:

Hope this helps you in yor decision
