Right, had the S-Line in Phantom Black 20mm drop for a week or so, it looks damned fine and turns heads wherever it goes.

I like the standard 18" 5-spoke alloys but just keep thinking how 19" would look even better.

Any ideas on whether it's worth it and whats the best place to look at ?

Hi,

I have just upgraded mine, I had the 18s (on my very early car 18s were not available!!!) and the 30mm lower suspension but got jealous of the 19 inch wheeled cars on here!!!!!! Here's a picture........

These are 19" RS6 wheels, I chose not to get the same as everyone else so not to be boring!!!!! I am very pleased with the new look, it really transforms it to something that attracts quite a few looks!

Try http://www.elitedirect.com/01_alloy_wheels/1-collection_audi.php5 , they are very competitive but make sure you get proper tyres, the package prices come with rubbish cheapies. They come with Audi centre caps or you can use the existing ones, and they also come with wheel bolts. Your car will have 47 offset rims at the mo so 45ish is fine, tyre size to be identical rolling circumferance to the standard 18 is 245/35/19.

Go for it, worth every penny!!!!

That looks superb ! How much did it set you back ?

Total including tyres, VAT and delivery was about a grand. I had quite good tyres in that though (Dunlop Sport Maxx - which I have had before and like). I think, judging from the reaction from Elite, the RS6 wheel was brand new to them and they weren't doing fantastic deals. On the RS4 wheel or the R8 (thought that would look cool!!!!) they'd do a bit better.

Not a bad price and you'd have a spare set of wheels that you could sell??

Definitely ! Do you happen to know whether you're fuel consumption has varied with the larger alloys ? Also what effect will changing the tyres have on the tyre pressure monitoring system ?

One final question, how do you cope with speed ramps ? I forgot on the first day until I heard a gentle thud so I slow right down now, just wondering how the 19 inchers would cope.

They do look great though !

Further, does anyone know how changing tyres will effect the spare, will I need to get a bigger spare ?

Hi,

I don't think the fuel consumption has changed at all, my car has been fiddled about with by MTM and averages about 43mpg, on my boring commute in traffic it does about 50!!!

I don't have tyre pressure monitoring so don't know on that one. One thing I do know though is that Audi recommends the 19s run at a higher pressure than the 18s.

I have no problem with speed bumps at all, where I live they are all over place and are fine. The car, of course, doesn't sit any lower so on the whole it doesn't make much difference, it's only those nasty sharp rubber ones that you need to go a bit slow on.

Regarding the spare wheel, no, no need to change as it's only a space saver and the rolling circumferance is the same as the original road wheels on the car if you get the 19s with the correct size tyres (not the size Audi use!!!)

These are 19" RS6 wheels

Looks good. So are these replicas? Do you have any higher resolution photos?
