Ibiza 130 sport FIRE

Hi we bought a 130 sport on an 02 plate, had it 12 days, just had rthe cambelt changed then about 7 hours after it last moved,1am to be be precise we were awoken by our eldest screaming it was on fire!

Looks like it started around where the battery is/was, complete write off!

anyone had similar disaster?

if not maybe have a nosey underneath your bonnet and give stuff a double check.

If I get any info from the insurers assesor I will post it up.

No piccies sorry, we had the car towed as it was peeing diesel all over the drive and we have had nothing back from the insurers other than the payout, which was amazingly quick, brownie points for Privilege there!

The fire brigade got here in time to stop the whole car going up, but the corner where the battery/fuses are was completely gone, the heat in the cabin still melted the back seats together, but strangely I was able to salvage a cd from inside the player and that is still playable!

I think if it had been a petrol model then we would have been in real trouble!
