dashboard problems

Hi, i have a N plate 96 passat estate. Having a bit of trouble woth the dashboard. The speedo always works but sometimes the rest of the gauges don't. Can get it to work sometimes by hitting top of dash but this doesn't always work. Anyone got an idea what problem is and if its easy to fix

Hi newby here btt for this, sorry for the hijack , but i have a n 96 passat estate and all the clocks have stopped working would appreciate any help or if anybody has a set of clocks for the above car (its a diesel) that would be cool too yours John

Hi.fellas ,i have a 95 passat tdi with 1Z engine bought in 2005 and had loads of probs with dashlights and clocks.Ended up buying second hand dash but later found out problem is connecting pins on dash circuit board(solder round pins cracked)then new(second dash )lights and clocks went off on way to work.took dash out again and resoldered pins and its been ok for last 2years.There are 24 pins on board but pin 3 is earth pin and if this cracks it will stop all dash lights and clocks working.hope this helps.mine is anologue type dash.

Hi had same problem on m reg tdi had to resolder large transistor inside speedo enclosure.

I can't say ive ever had a problem with my dash board (same model) but does anybody know how to calibrate the speedo?
