Hi All

Just signed up - i have a 1.8T ibiza and was wondering if anyone here can shed any more light

Got VAG COM and scanned car and was getting 17965 posistive deviation - main vac hoses have been replaced, new maf and n75 valve been changed -

i initially had the problem but when i changed the hosing it worked - but then a day later, its doing the same and not boosting properly -

ive checked intercooler pipes and they are on firmly -

anyone know another point of call to check?

THANKS

If you have a registered VAGCOM log the engine measurement blocks that show airflow and boost during an acceleration run to see what is happening when the code is logged.
If you are near LE17 I can help out, or post the log here.

Logs Above - My actual boost is no where near hitting requested boost - My N75 duty is very low - but as said, this was replaced -

Ive done all the checking i can for an air leak - Im hoping ive missed somewhere as otherwise, I could be looking at a sticky wastegate - which means cleaning or replacing turbo -

Seeing a VAG technician in about 2 weeks - hopefully will find problem and cost will be minimal -

Error code im getting is 17965 Charge pressure control - posisitive Deviation

cheers

apologies for not updating earlier -
one of the first basic tests i should have done was to disconnect maf sensor but didnt do this as the maf was only about 5 months old -

the maf was reading to high and therefore indicate a boost leak as this reading would never be achieved -

thanks

Now you have an AMM/MAF fault code.

It is screwed to the air box top, a tube with a plug going to it and the turbo inlet hose connected to it.

i right i thought AMM and MAF where to different things, damm what else could it be? cos the MAF is brand new, dont fancy spendin another 80quid on new one

AMM is Air Mass Meter
MAF is Mass Air Flow
AVM is Ai Volume Meter

All the same thing.

Where did you buy the AMM? That type of air filter, in my experience, can kil a new genuine AMM in days.
