Some early pics taken with my phone camera. Just wished Audi hadn't had their problems with the parking sensors. Ice Silver is the colours ;) Previous car was an A3 Sportback 2.0 TDI S-Line. I'm finding the handling a bit heavier in this. The steering wheel doesn't feel much like leather either compared to the S-Line leather wheel. Seats are also a bit harder compared to the A3. I'm putting all this down to it being new and not worn in yet.

Boot is quite big, but a colleague felt that his 2 generations previous model A4 Avant had a deeper (in height) boot space.

You don't feel the speed in this thing. I was doing 60mph and it felt quite pedestrian.

Quite happy with the alloy selection. But saying that, there's not much choice in the 17" range. It's a lease car so I was limited in that aspect.

It's much more refined than my A3. Not as violent when you put the foot down.

I've ordered chrome tailpipe covers for it which will set me back 83€. I didn't like the look of the tailpipes as standard. I guess they will look a bit manky when they get a bit of wear and tear.

I got the gear stick that I wanted, which was a bit of a concern for me. Apparently it's linked to the type of steering wheel you take (sports or standard).

Another nice touch is the fact that if I take the car to the UK or Ireland I can adjust the headlights from the car setup system. Very convenient.

Lovley looking car! And the first true pictures I have seen of the Avant! I am guessing that is the SE model, if so VERY jealous (as others will be) you have L.E.D daytime running lights and Xenon headlamps..All alas only on the S-Line over here in the UK.

I spot that you are hailing from Luxembourg, lovely country been there many times in the past!

Cheers tomtom20. Will try to get some interior shots of it later on.
They don't do the SE model thingy over here so it's a case of pick your engine and packs i.e. leather pack, comfort pack, etc.

Nice, thanks for sharing! Is the spoiler lip above the rear glass standard or optional? I thought it only came with S-Line.

Cheers. The spoiler lip was standard.

Got a call from the dealer today to say the tailpipe covers arrived already. Will fit them this evening. Bigger than I expected.

How are these pipe covers different to what you get on the S Line which includes "chrome rolled exhaust covers"?

No idea. Same ones perhaps?

Another thing about the new A4 is the wing mirrors. They're giant. My colleague said it was part of a new EU safety initiative. It feels like owning one of those phones with the giant buttons.

I notice the wing mirrors are huge too. Coming from a BMW with small tear drop shape mirrors, these ones are huge.

I guess the exhause tips are the same, must be.

Some pics of the chrome tailpipe covers fitted. Didn't have the sense to take before pics. Sorry.
Easy to fit yourself. Try to get them as close as you can to the correct angle and then push in all the way fine tune turn it so it's flush with the tailpipe inside. Definitely enhances the back and for a measily 83€ (65GBP).

Looks the business, the tips certainly make the back end very neat.

What's the part number for the tips, i'd would like to compare UK prices to get a feel.....possibly thinking of the gloss grill from the 3.0

Your Avant looks really good and useful tip about the chrome tailpipe covers.

My black Avant is somewhere between Ingolstadt and the UK having been built in week 25 - having seen your pictures I can't wait !

Cheers! I was expecting to get mine sometime in August. 1st of July instead :D
I was torn between black and silver but since the last one was black I fancied a change.

Very nice!

I think your're right about the boot - it's not that deep / high. Almost reminds me of a Jaguar X Type Estate boot. When you consider that the B8 has a space saver spare it is quite shallow.

Great tail pipes, I'm waiting for a Silver Avant Sline.

These pipes finish off the rear end, nice.

Thanks for the info on the price of the chrome tailpipe covers. I emailed my dealer for a price today so it will be interesting to see if I am quoted the same price.

My new Avant has been consigned according to my dealer which means it is in the UK and on its way. All being well I should have it by next weekend.

Imminent : Avant 1.8TFSi multitronic in black, black sports seats, bluetooth, cruise, interior light pack, parking system plus, powered tailgate, load area rail system, storage pack, reversible boot map and debadged

While I was waiting for my car to arrive I couldn't get enough of looking at other people's pics. I'm sure there must be a few more like that out there. A view from the balcony where I sneak a peek every now and again :D An ex neighbour had a Q7 and looking down on the A4 the same frontal features are apparent. For some reason the front of the A4 looks very "truckish" from that view point.

Another thing I love about this car is the nice rumble sound from the exhaust. Sounds so refined compared to my old A3 2.0 TDi Sportback. That just rattled a lot like tractor.
