vw caddy can't find 5th gear pls help

Hi
I've just bought a vw caddy (seat inca) for the girl friends work but can't find fifth gear?
The gearbox code is DGH10057 not sure if that helps......never know it might of been swopped for a 4 speed in the past

I've replaced the light white plastic bit that joins the link
I've adjusted the clamp on the gearlever rod but still no fifth gear

Please can anyone give me some advice
