Reliable?

Hi,

I've owned a 2001 1.8 20V estate for 2.5 years-reliability has been dreadful. Time for a change. Are the 54 reg Highline estates any better as regards electronics/sensor reliability-thinking 130 diesel? Or is it time to switch manufacturers? Unforunately, can't afford the new model Passat estate, mortgage, young kids etc. Your wiews will be greatly appreciated.

You will not necessarily get an unbiased view. Though mine sounds like it has not been as unreliable as yours, it has been one of the most unreliable I have owned. I now think that maybe down to modern computeronics :D. I will be changing marque next time.

Of course it will be awhile probably before I change and might change my mind :p. I do like A4's
