I just changed from an A3 to an A4 and moved my Tom Tom over. In the old car I used a windscreen mount but didn't like it for many reasons (hard to reach, too visible, left an obvious mark etc. Somewhere I found a tip which I cannot find again, which is to get a piece of toughened/laminated glass cut to fit in the coin drawer (above radio) and mount the sucker onto that. My Tom Tom mount fits perfectly and although the setup feels a bit wobbly it does not in fact wobble or move in any way. It also means that the power cable is not draped up onto the dashboard. The only downside is that the left half of the radio controls are hidden, but I do have steering wheel controls, and it has nor presented a problem

The bit of glass cost me a quid!

I brought a Brodit Pro-clip (try googling Brodit) to get my tomtom off the screen.
