Automatically revs up when started

Hi Guys,

This has happened on two separate occasions so far:

Key in ignition, twist and start. Revs go up to about 2,100 and engine judders. Have to turn off ignition to clear - three times this morning before the revs dropped to normal, then she does not miss a beat !

Any ideas ?
