Mozilla Firefox 3 has been released for download.

Download Firefox 3 (Mozilla Europe) (http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox)

Download Firefox 3 (Mozilla) (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox)

Due to the current the lack of server response experienced from the latter site, and in the interests of load balancing (or should that be availability :() I'd recommend the European site.

P.S. I didn't even make any Wall Street/Gordon Gecko references. :Blush:

Finally managed to get it this morning. I'll be doing some testing of extensions before rolling it out on all my machines.

Just found one of possibly many articles relating to a

Serious security flaw found in IE (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7784908.stm)

Apparently all versions of Internet Explorer are affected including IE7 (potentially even 8 Beta).

The link above includes suggestions from Microsoft to workaround/reduce the security threat.

"Other browsers, such as Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Safari, are not vulnerable to the flaw Microsoft has identified".

I've had the wife over-reacting to it and whinging at me about it, "why are you still using Internet Explorer?" etc etc.

I've just started using Safari in the meantime, apart from its slightly slower than IE7 it looks nicer.

I moved over to Firefox 3 yesterday - good features, looks good, quicker than IE7.:approve: Why move back?

why move full stop? ive never ever had any problems with ie? i use my laptop as it is supposed to be used, never use torrent sites, use proper virus protection and its been working fine since i got it about 8 months ago. my dad used firefox for a while and was always getting his hair off with it crashing and slow. maybe just him though.

Firefox is a little slow on start-up, less so I think if it is vanilla. I have add-ons and plugins etc which slow down start-up on Windows XP, but it runs well once up. On *nix systems it of course starts up super quick. The slow start speed on Windows probably has something to do with BillCode :p

Firefox 3.5 (originally intended as a 3.1 launch) is now available for download;

Download Firefox 3.5 (http://www.mozilla.com/products/download.html?product=firefox-3.5&os=win&lang=en-GB)

While not quite upto the speed of Chrome and Safari, 3.5 now includes the improved Trace Monkey Javascript engine for faster Javascript processing.

After a few months of delays and almost 3 years since the release of Firefox 3, Firefox 4 is available for download;

Firefox 4 download (http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-4.0&os=win&lang=en-GB)

Given the short period since FF4's RTW, the download statistics (http://glow.mozilla.com/) are quite impressive (claimed to be over 20 Million downloads within 2 days) :eek: .

Hi All,

Since you're discussing Firefox, I wonder if you know if there is a way to get it to save mulitple usernames and passwords when you log into Hotmail. On Internet Explorer it gives you several options to click on based on who has signed on on that computer before, I have mine and my Wife's usernames on the screen to sign in with, but Firefox only gives the last one that signed in. A small issue but it is annoying. Tried Firefox help guides but couldn't find anything...

Thanks,
Mark
