Hi folks - I have an A4 cab 53 plate with the Aluminium windscreen surround (the A pillars and across the top of screen is band of aluminium) and round the back of where the roof meets the car.

It's looking a bit dull with what look like hard water marks - sort of white dull stuff - I don't want it to be high gloss and shiny but do want to try and tidy it up a bit and get rid of the milky white marks.

I'm a bit worried about polishing away to a high gloss finish
Anyone got ideas/experience on best product to use please.

Thanks
Ken

Hiya, if its aluminium then have a go with Megs Nxt Gen All Metal Polysh, or have a look at Autosol who do a range of products. i have used megs recently and it works wonders and a few applications are needed (this could help tailor how bright and shiny or not so u want it).

I was thinking if it plastic to look like aluminium then it can be treated as the car is, wash, clay, paint cleaner and wax. (i would recommend waxing over it after no matter what to protect a recurrence)

This is what Megs did on the engine (cant name the part not sure if its a manifold cover) on my dads golf

(50:50 the right side is hazy, lacked shine and covered with water spots)

Hope this helps
