Hi All,

The Central locking on my 2002 A4 1.9TDi 130 Sport is playing up.
I've a mate that works as a mechanic at our local Audi dealer and he put my car on the Audi Diagnostics PC and he says I need to replace the Central Locking/Comfort Module unit.

Apparently, these can be damaged if you jumpstart the battery, which I had done recently.

Anyone know where I could source a 2nd hand Central locking control module. The part number on mine is "8E0 959 433 AJ". It will cost me over £350+ to get a new one replaced by Audi.

Thanks, Declan.

Same here allthough Im looking for a 8E0 959 433 AC
My manual for the car gives directions for jump starting with a battery so why your mate would say that I dont know.

What exactly is not working on your car please

Mine
No lights interior no alarm child locks on the back doors They wont open
I tried breakers asnd the internet but no joy yet

If I find somebody good I will let you know

Look at the breakers in Auto Trader VWDUBBS or something like that in the north east are supposed to be good

I've seen these guys on Ebay alright, but they won't refund if the unit doesn't solve my problem. So I could lose £90 easily. There is also the possiblilty that their 2nd hand unit could be faulty. They tell me that the unit is fully tested but I'm not sure what equipment a breakers yard would have to test that these units are working correctly.

My key remote will lock the car but will not unlock the car (any doors). I have to use the key in the drivers door to manually unlock the door, but this does not open the other doors, but when I put the key in the ignition and start the car then all door locks open. Also, the boot will not open at all. Really frustrating. I've checked all the wiring between the door posts and doors, seemed OK to me.

I think I'll just order a new control module from Mr. Audi. £194 + VAT.

There is a discussion on central locking at VWAF: http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=326
