;) Hello Peeps,
A while ago I asked if anyone could help me with the location of a retro fit cruise control for my t4 tdi. well Thanks to the members that pointed me to VAG Parts, I contacted them and bought the kit for just under £60 delivered. It only took about 1/2 an hour to fit, quite easy once you have the steering wheel off, Just replace the original indicator stalk with the new one with the cruise control and put it all back together. The plug on the cc kit simply plugs into a connector on the wiring harness, this was found to be up behind the relay and fuse board, this board can be easily removed from its housing and dropped down to enable access to the loom, once you have found the counter part to the plug just plug in and you're away... Well thats not quite true, The cruise did not work and reading on through the supplied paperwork, It does tell you that the on board computer might need a code inputting to enable this. It took me a week or so but I did find a "non main agent" who was willing to do this for a "drink":beerchug:
It took him about 5 minits to plug in the VAG service computer to the T4 and input the code supplied. Woo hoo, I now have Cruise control on my big yellow ex AA van and its great.
Any one who would like to know more, please ask and I will try to help.
Cheers and Beers. Squelchy
