California !!

Hello, new here so bare;) with me! I am lucky enough to own a VW California which is fantastic. I have just returned from a 4 month holiday (NOT) with work and the fridge on the truck is unwilling to switch on. I have checked the fuses and they are fine. The control panel shows the fridge switching on ten after a second or two switches off. You can hear an audible click from the fridge unit itself which would suggest a breakdown of a component there, relay or something similar. Has anyone got any ideas of a solution as VW have not been able to respond with one yet.
