I was going to buy a vr6 then I saw this fault code.......

I'm in the process of buying my mates 92 k reg VR6 when while he was on the phone talking to me he turned the key and then.......................nothing.
He said a fault code "IN02" came up, he got the car bump started and it was all ok after that but i was wondering if anyone knew what it means and if it was a major problem?

IN02 means the car is due for a servis,it is not a fault code

Thanks for the info mate, I was getting a little worried about that. Would this mean that I would have to either take it in to a vw garage and have them plug it in to their magic computer? or can I just take it to a local garage and they can reset it or something?
Sorry I sound like it's my first car but I'm struggling with the modern ones after many years driving around VW's finest from years gone by.

lol it's in the car manual on how to reset, but it does suggest he hasn't had it serviced in a very long time, at least at a reputable garage. Not starting could be many things, would leave it to someone who knows what they are doing though.
