Anybody know of any decent place that offers RR power outputs/graphs for a good price?

My local place does it for £47 (incl VAT). That's inclusive of 1 run and a power/torque graph. So any cheaper than that would be good

Not looking to spend alot of money, was just curious as to power ouput... had it remapped last year (but no RR).

Alternatively if anybody knows of any Group Buy RR days near to Manchester then let me know.

I'd also be interested in this loofer.....

Another run on the RR would reassure me that everything is tickety-boo :)

Had it done last year by Chipped uk, Lost the print out but from a PD 100, i recall i'm now getting around 135bhp?

you really ought to give RStuning a try, PM paul and tell him I sent you, he's a brilliant guy and knows his stuff inside out.

I'm sending my brother's tolly there soon for a full remap :approve:

If you only want a powergraph and don't want it tuning then minisport in padiham are cheap for that only £30 for a power run. I know it's not strictly manchester but not far away.

Don't be put off by the name, they used to be called 'powerzone' a few years back but ditched the name, he tunes all cars not just minis.

Another place is RE performance in bury although not sure on his prices.

£30 actually sounds pretty cheap, but has anyone else given it a go doing their own (a VAG COM cable is only £15 and you can do as many runs as you like as well as plenty of other things)? I'm sure it's not as accurate as getting it done by a pro (especially if you are confined to using real roads with real speed limits!), but I found it kind of satisfying and, despite being a complete novice, I measured 158hp for my 1.8T 163. Seems pretty close. I posted in the VAG COM section, but it didn't seem to attract much interest! I think it's neat anyway :D

RE Performance is my local that quoted £47.

Padiham and Leeds are further than I'm willing to go.

I know there's Awesome GTi but I couldn't justify £65+.

There must be more places in Manchester!

Used to have XP on my laptop as a 2nd OS but it went duff.

Got Lappy repaired under warranty and back to Vista now and I can't afford the a VAG COM 7 cable. Didn't even get round to doing the VAG COM EGR mod :Blush2:

I have Vista and use the Shareware 409 VAGCOM fine. Just "run as administrator".

Might just give that a try... It never worked last time tho.

Just had a look on the Ross Tech site, there's so many versions of the 409 version to download. I have the USB cable commonly found on eBay. Can anybody please point me to exactly which software I need to download. (Please provide link and also accurate description of which file I download)

Thanks

I guess Vista's problem could be with your cable rather than with VAGCOM, but it's worth a try. Here (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=189389&postcount=19) is something I posted on another thread which might be of help.

This (http://www.ross-tech.net/vag-com/download/1405/Release4091us.exe) is the link I used to Ross-Tech for the software.

Install this first, and then plug in your cable. If you get the opportunity to direct the windows installer to look in the newly created VAG COM directory then do so. Under Vista, however, I did not - it insisted on looking on the web to install automatically, but I let it do this and it worked. It did take a long time to find them - I thought it was going to fail but persevere. It might also go and install a 2nd driver after you think it has finally finished - this is fine too. For me it installed a USB-Serial driver, and a driver for a COM port.

At no point did I use the CD which came with my cable (well, at no point during the attempt to install that finally worked!)

If you have previously tried to install drivers it would be a good idea to go into Device Manager and uninstall them first. See this (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=189096&postcount=7) post for info on issues with previous failed installations.

I think this post went unnoticed ^

# £20 # Rolling Road Session!!!- @ RS Tuning! (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=26280)

This was offered by RS Tuning a few months ago - little to no interest as per usual

Yup, I searched the forum before starting this thread and came across that offer... shame it wasn't taken up. Would almost definately go for it if it was on now.

I would also quite possibly attend if the same thing was held now.

Ooh fantastic... got it workingon Vista.
Going to try the EGR adaptation when I get home. Do I need the registered version to do this? Is that going to be another £50
