Newbie from Lancs with a Passat

Hi Everyone,

Having owned fast BM,s / Volvo's / Impreza's, it was time (thanks to this goverment) get something a little more economical, and so I bought a 2001 Passat TDI 130 SE.

Very pleased with the car, apart from the soggy mats this week, but Ive cleared the drain holes (common I believe) and now she's dry as a bone again.

No mods planned, except a remap to 160bhp, for even more Umphhh and Cruise Control (got the kit, need someone to fit it ;))

The wheels have gone, and Im back to standard 15" Alloys

Hope this site is as friendly and as knowledgable as the Volvo ones ;)

Welcome to the forum.

Do you enjoy the torque from your Passat? They aint slow...

By the way, the 130 is the best engine for re-mapping... they can be taken to 180bhp without sacrificing fuel economy, or even improving it!

Hi Paul,

Yes, the torque is great, although it does run out, unlike my old Volvo T5,s and Scoobs ;)

I think the remap will make a HUGE difference, but she's fast enough for me now for the time being. Im more "feather footed" than "lead footed" these days.
