:1zhelp: My first post so if I break any rules or offend anyone it's unintentional.

I've just bought a 94 Avantgarde. Last night the hood wouldn't close. I press the switch and no noise from pump or any hint of movement.

The manual that came with the car doesn't mention cabriolet hoods/pumps at all so I'm in the dark. I've looked at the fuses and I don't know which one controls the hood pump. The pump looks brand new but no idea what to do with it.

I read here that it's possible to bypass the pump and close the hood manually but I haven't got a clue how to do it and can't find any post that explains it. This might be me not seartching properly but I have tried.

Can anyone explain what I need to do to get the hood up before it rains?

Thanks in advance.

On the pump there is a T handle screw, undo this and the top can be raised and lowered by hand. The usual reason for top motor failure is a faulty ignition switch.

Thanks Crasher.

I love the internet/web and all the people who devote time to forums like this. 10 minutes and I get an answer.

Thanks again.
