Hi all
Just bought a 1998 A4 1.6. Never had an audi before so a bit stumped with a few minor niggles and looking for some guidance.
When ever i start the car from cold, the engine starts, idles for about a second and then dies. If you put your foot on the accelerator it starts fine and idles as it should do. Have changed the plugs and leads, put on a new air filter and about to change the fuel filter. Any ideas?
Also have noticed that the temperature guage never gets above 70 degrees. Suspect either the thermostat is fully open all the time or is not fitted. Where does it live and how difficult is it to change?
