:1zhelp: Hi all, I'm a new member and would appreciate any help I can get.
2000 (x reg) Audi S3 Quattro. Xenon headlights point directly to the floor about 3 metres in front of car and don't self adjust. Got car scanned with VAG-Comm and the following fault was highlighted.
1 Fault Found:
01538 - Motors for Headlight Range Adjustment (V48) / (V49)
29-00 - Short to Ground
Does anyone know where these motors are situated? Is it a DIY job?

so i guess when you move the lights from postion 1-3 you get no movement or noise??
The motors are on a headlight unit... best to whip the headlight out and check all connections to start with..

Also i think its on the same fuse as the headlight washers..

Found level sensor for xenons in the front passenger wheel arch was badly damaged. Seems like the logical place to start, will have to give Audi a call to get a price for the part. Fingers crossed.

Ordered new sensor unit and linkage arm from Audi (£82.04 inc.Vat). Parts weren't in stock and had to be ordered in. Due to arrive mid week so I will be fitting them next weekend (depending on work commitments :( ). Will keep you informed.
