As I was on my way to work this morning, I noticed some very nice bright DLR's in the distance behind me... i thought.. 'Ahhh here comes another happy S6 owner'.. but then it got closer...and closer and closer still...(in about all of 2 seconds), and I could hear what seemed to be a jet engine up my rear end... and thought..RS6?!?! wow!! the sound was truly amazing, the guy must have been doin easy over 100 and flewwwww past me (I was doing 70.. I promise ;)) ... but WHAT a car!

One thing I noticed was how wide it is! If I was him though I wouldnt have gone for a dark navy blue colour... didnt really do the car justice at all!

I think the RS6 looks best in Red. Without a doubt. The RS4 is nice in that kind of brilliant Blue (not sure whats it's actually called!). I think it's the size of the car that makes the difference.

I love the sound of that car though. Wonder if I could make my A3 make that kinda noise! :biglaugh:

I'm really loving white at the moment. Especially when the A3 has the Black Styling package.

I think that everyone is loving white at the moment! I just dont think I'd have one... you have to think about resale values in a couple of years time when the 'white bubble' bursts! White's always been popular stateside and in really hot countries - India, Dubai etc... I'm just surprised it's taken so long to get here!

I have a 225hp S3 n i only slightly started closin the gap at 130mph, as i looked up from the speedo i saw the hot fuzz sat on a bridge over the m62, lookin right in my direction! i jumped on the brakes to slowed to 80mph uber quick.. the audi estate didnt, he just kept blastin away.. he were gone n i were left watchin my rear view for the blues n twos... luckily they never came, my license is safe for another weekend!!

DRL = daytime running lights.

DRL's are lights that you use all the time, even in the day. They don't have to be LED's like the latest Audi's.

The new A4 has them, the new A3, the RS6, S6, A8 (i think) and the R8.

The A4's can be turned off via the MMI. When you put the sidelights on the LED's halve in length. Which looks cool when you flash people by flicking your side lights on then off. The DRL's halve then go back to normal.

*please note: new Courtesy Car Review coming up later this week.

Oh......DRL's:

Volvo's have had daytime running lights since the late 1970's. For them it isn't another set of lights like the newer LED versions, but just the fact they have lights on in the day and at night.

People mention that it increases fuel consumption by up to 5% a year and could cost £160 a year extra in fuel. But the newer style LED lights have a lower energy saving form of them.

Other arguments include motorcyclists being made more vulnerable due to 'blending in' with all the other vehicles with lights on.

I personally don't see this though as a headlight is a headlight and it will make you think twice if you catch it out the corner of your eye be it car, van, lorry or bike.

It's the pedestrians that would also benefit.
